Tennyson Station is a disused railway station on the Corinda via South Brisbane Line of Brisbane, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. Prior to the opening of the Merivale Bridge in 1978, through trains ran from South Brisbane to Darra and Ipswich via Tennyson plus a local shuttle service between Yeerongpilly and Corinda calling at Tennyson. After 1978 the line lost some of its importance and most through trains were withdrawn. The shuttle was withdrawn on 1 June 1998 but reinstated soon after, with through services from Corinda to Bowen Hills railway station in the morning and afternoon. The shuttle continued until 25 May 2001 when it was replaced by buses. Services ran from Corinda to Bowen Hills via South Bribsane in peak-hours, the last service was a 6-car Suburban Multiple Unit 220 Series from Bowen Hills to Corinda via South Brisbane. Tennyson is now served only by buses. Tennyson has a short platform and could only accommodate three cars at a time. It was originally thought that the station may possibly be reopened in the future, as signage posted around the station suggested it was merely closed for essential maintenance works. However, as of April 2014, the station remains completely fenced off, and the side of platform 2 has been demolished, leaving on one usable platform, in addition all go card readers, emergency phones, pay phones, cctv cameras, and some shelters have been removed from the station. 〔("Rail Back on Track - Tennyson" ), 11 December 2014}〕 ==See also== *List of South East Queensland railway stations 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Tennyson railway station」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
